Volunteers
We are always pleased to welcome volunteers at our school. Volunteers are encouraged to assist in teaching and learning activities under the guidance of our school staff. We recognise that each individual brings a different amount of experience in working with children and we take pride in supporting individuals to develop their knowledge and understanding of school life and teaching and learning.
Over the last few years, we have supported many volunteers some of which have continued their journey with us as Teaching Assistants and Higher Level Teaching Assistants. We are pleased to share our expertise and to learn from others.
Parents who wish to volunteer will be asked to work with classes other than their own child’s.
In line with our safeguarding procedures, we follow the recruitment procedure with our volunteers. Volunteers will be required to:
- complete an application
- attend a short interview meeting
- provide two character references prior to starting work, one of which should be from a professional person (eg. your current employer, a teacher or GP).
An identity check will also be carried out before the volunteer starts work here and a DBS clearance will be obtained before volunteers start.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at our school and would like more information, please look at our volunteering policy below. If you wish to volunteer, please download and complete the application form and return it to the office (junior or infant site).
If you have any questions please contact the school office.
Paper copies of information on this website are available upon request.
