At Foxdell, we are proud to be working towards the Hedgehog Friendly Campus Award. Through this project, our pupils are learning about the importance of protecting local wildlife and helping to create safe spaces for hedgehogs in our community.
Sadly, hedgehog numbers have declined significantly in recent years due to habitat loss, busy roads, and barriers that make it difficult for them to travel safely. By making small changes in our gardens and outdoor spaces, we can all play a part in helping these wonderful creatures thrive.
Our pupils have been exploring ways to support hedgehogs both in school and at home, from creating hedgehog highways to providing food and water and making gardens safer for wildlife.
Have a look at our poster below to discover how you can help our spiky friends and make a positive difference for nature in your local area.
